VICTORIAN Mahogany settee
This Victorian 2-to-3 seater, circa 1890, has been completely restored, including interior strengthening and retrofitting for leather upholstering. We've painstakingly removed all prior finishes to allow the natural beauty of the Mahogany and abundant, finely detailed hand carvings to shine through new clear varnish. We also replaced the irreparable front casters with modern brass casters. To accentuate the wood’s warm tones, we chose to reupholster in brown toned, hand-rubbed Full Grain leather cow hide. The new 8-way hand-tied springs complete the full restoration by providing superior seat comfort. Finished in matching dome head nails, this piece would make an eye catching statement in an entry way or sitting room, but has been composed to blend in with numerous furnishing periods and colors. The settee can be paired with two matched period side chairs as a Trio. Settee measures 67”w x 30”d x 46”h, and weighs approximately 75 lbs.
