While searching for just the right piece to start a line of SteamPunk furnishings, these two estate sale armchairs virtually jumped out at us. They were screaming Jules Verne! Gathering up ideas from everywhere, to include styling, textures and colors, we decided on a feminine Victorian look that would be right at home in either a classic Queen Ann or Captain Nemo’s submarine. We proudly present our vision of SteamPunk Victoriana!
As comfortable as they are beautiful and unique, these Corset-backed Armchairs are truly elegant enough to grace the finest parlor, and stylish enough to tempt Jules Verne into redecorating his brass diving bell. Completely at home in a full-on Steam Punk household, these chairs are finished in seductively soft Top Grain leather over a layer of Merino wool batting for optimal warmth and comfort. Featuring a new, eight-way hand-tied heavy-gage steel coil foundation, a fully tufted, gently curving wing-back, and a hand-carved Mahogany frame with perfect proportions, these armchairs will support and warmly cradle your body, while the hand carved arms and legs accent a look that is both easy on the eyes and truly unique. Rawhide lacing cinched with a “clock gear” bolo, then finished with a bow tie, complete the Corset back.
