POTTSTOWN FRENCH armchair
Relax in the style of yesteryear with the comfort of today. This handsome “Fauteuil” (literally ‘armchair’) style chair, made popular in the reign of Louis XIV through the 19th century is still popular today. A lighter style of armchair with open sides and lower back turns more modern with perfectly matched, butter-soft Top Grain Leather upholstery. The heavy gage coil springs (replacing old world horsehair) are 6-way hand-tied for a perfect sit, then the spring bed is covered in high density seating foam and a final layer of real wool batting for surfaces that quickly adjust to your body temperature. The look is completed with arm coverings that match the seat, all affixed with paired antiqued dome-head nails. Hand carved accents on the frame’s gentle curves complete the restoration to create comfort that is easy on the eyes and seat.
