"iron throne" Armchairs
A matching pair of unique vintage armchairs, reimagined in a modern take on iron medieval thrones. The frames were fully restored then finished in wiped black stain and satin varnish to evoke a sense of metal. Completely reupholstered with eight-way hand-tied spring beds and covered in wool then in hand-rubbed, steel gray Full Grain cowhide, these armchairs are also button-tufted for both beauty and back comfort. Gun metal dome nails complete the “riveted” metal look. The chair backs are uniquely designed to appear as what begins as a leather tunic with contrasting dark leather plackets, pulled together and vertically laced up with rawhide, then horizontally ‘belted.’ The finished garment then reveals the image of a broadsword, with the belt buckle serving as the decorative cross-guard and the centerline of the joined plackets as the blade’s fuller. Designed and executed in our Delaware shop to be and remain unique as a pair or as a three piece set, the armchairs can be paired with our matching Iron Throne Box Divan. Seating fit for a King!
Each Armchair measures 30”w x 32”d x 45”h, and weighs approximately 75 lbs.
