Gilded Phyfe settee
A classic Phyfe-style Mahogany settee, beautifully restored inside and out. We started by carefully refinishing the entire frame with 6 layers of clear varnish allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shine through. We completed the interior next with 100% new components, including eight-way hand-tied steel coil springs covered in a final layer of Merino wool batting for an optimal seating experience. We meticulously covered the entire sofa with Top Grain leather finished in the ‘Sauvage’ technique, a traditional tanning process that adds luster and multiple subtle color tones. This leather is exceptionally plush, and is treated with a transparent top coat that is both stain and wear resistant. It is the highest quality leather available today. Matched dome nails and polished Brass Lion’s Claw feet complete the professional, traditional look. Our craftsmen painstakingly hand-gildt small carved details with 23.5 carat gold leaf as a final accent this stunning period piece. Wood, leather and gold harmoniously combine to create warm and enduring classic seating, perfect for any room in home or office.
