Classical antique styling meets modern day comfort. One of the most elegant of the type for its simplicity and clean lines, this Phyfe-style box sofa recreates the mid/late 18th to early 19th century "Ormolu-Mounted" look using polished brass architectural fittings on the Doric column “arm supports.” As a turn-of-the-century reproduction, the Mahogany rails were carefully refinished in clear varnish to bring back the original deep luster of the wood. Fully replaced interior seating components upgrade the original horsehair to modern eight-way hand-tied heavy gage steel springs and high density seating foam. We finished the comfort upgrade with Merino wool batting covered by premium quality Top Grain cow hide that has been hand rubbed for softness in both feel and hue. Meticulously restored for beauty and comfort, this classic piece is a rare and unique find.
