American Renaissance Walnut parlor sofa
This full-sized American Renaissance Parlor sofa has been meticulously restored and reupholstered. The exposed frame is executed in solid Walnut, and features copious burled walnut inlays and veneers, especially in the eye-catching center crest. It has an elegant ‘Victoriana’ appeal that expresses many of the stylistic elements found in this later 19th century design movement. The seating interior has been completely refitted by hand with 100% new, traditional upholstering components including: eight-way hand-tied, heavy gage steel coil springs covered in a layer of cotton, high density seating foam, and a final layer of natural wool batting for an optimal comfort experience. This sofa is also covered with a verdant moss green Top Grain leather hide, buttery smooth, and hand rubbed in the ‘Sauvage’ technique, a traditional tanning process that creates softness, luster and multiple subtle color tones that compliment the clear varnished solid Walnut frame. These top grain hides are the highest quality available, and found only on the finest seating. Antiqued matching dome nails complete the traditional look. Multi-toned Walnut and moss green leather harmoniously combine to create a natural warmth as well as enduring classic seating, perfect for any room in home or professional office.
