Rosewood "Black rose" sofa
A meticulously restored solid Rosewood Rococo Victorian sofa. The deep black and red rosewood tones of this antique piece are complimented by a rich Cabernet colored “WineBerry” Top Grain leather and matching dome nails. Seamlessly upholstered, front and back, in full Brazilian cow hides that are hand rubbed, the seating is completed with our standard old-world craftsmanship in all new components. These include 8-way hand-tied heavy-gage steel coil springs and 1/2” under layer of wool batting and includes a button tufted backrest for the ultimate in comfort and durability. Joinery, main frame construction and solid rosewood are indicative of mid to late 19th Century manufacture. The interior skeleton framework has been structurally enhanced to facilitate modern support needs as well as to facilitate leather upholstering. Exterior Victorian Rococo styling includes Cabriole legs capped with hand carved flowers, upholstered armrests and gently curving, finger-carved back and skirt rail. This sofa is uniquely beautiful and will provide generations of use, comfort and enjoyment.
